The Old West Trio returns to Imagination Theater this spring. The Old West Trio is a western music group featuring sweet harmonies, intricate guitar licks, and first-rate yodeling. The trio of native Californians is composed of Steve Ide (rhythm guitar), Steve Johnson (lead guitar), and Leslie Ide (upright bass).
The Old West Trio has performed throughout Western North America for over 15 years and has garnered an Album of the Year nomination from the Academy of Western Artists. They are members of the Western Music Association and co-founders of Scofield's Cowboy Campfire at the Red Mule Ranch (Fiddletown, California).
McAvoy Layne will be joining the evening as The Ghost of Mark Twain. For 20 years, in over two thousand performances from Leningrad University to C-Span, McAvoy Layne has survived, and in fact been preeminent, in preserving the wit & wisdom of "The Wild Humorist of the Pacific Slope." McAvoy is author of the biography, Hooked On Twain, and winner of the award for excellence in school and library service. He portrays Samuel Clemens in A&E's biography of Mark Twain and in the Discovery Channel's Cronkite Award winning documentary, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
Tickets for this benefit show will go on sale, February 1 at www.imagination-theater.org. All tickets are $15.
