Jan Le Pouvoir wins Elly at the SARTA Elly Awards September 25.

Imagination Theater is pleased to announce that Jan Le Pouvoir has won an Elly Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Miss Skillon in the British farce, See How They Run.  

The Elly Awards are presented annually by the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance (SARTA) and honor outstanding achievements of community theaters and artists in the Sacramento area. The Elly Awards are named for the late Eleanor McClatchy, who was a devoted patron of the local arts. 

Imagination Theater, a nonprofit organization, is now in the sixteenth season of presenting live theater in El Dorado County.  The theater's upcoming productions include A Christmas Story, The Musical, playing November 25-December 21 and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in February 2017.  Tickets and information about these shows can be found at www.imaginationtheater.net.

IT! receives three Elly Nominations

Imagination Theater is pleased to announce they have received three Elly nominations for two of their productions in the 2015-2016 season. Jan Le Pouvoir received a nomination for best supporting actress in her role as the uptight Miss Skillon in the British farce, See How They Run.  Two nominations were received for the comedy, Lend Me a Tenor Otto Coelho received a nomination for best supporting actor for his role as the opera star, Tito Merelli and Becky Jo Adams for Costume Design.

Date Changes for See How They Run

Imagination Theater has announced that there will be some date changes to the coming play SEE HOW THEY RUN opening this Friday, September 11th at 7:00 p.m.  Due to a large event scheduled at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, the September 25th and 26th performances of  SEE HOW THEY RUN have been rescheduled to two Sunday evening performances at 7:00 p.m. on September 20th and 27th.  

We encourage the community to make reservations for one of these Sunday evening shows (or any other) by ordering online or calling 1-800-838-3006 or our Box Office at 530 642-0404.  Ticket prices for these two Sunday evening performances are $12.  Wines from Lava Cap Winery will be poured on those evenings.  The theater is also offering a FREE admission to any VETERAN to either of these two Sunday evening performances.  Veterans need to bring their Veteran I.D card to get in free.  This is Imagination Theater's way of saying thank you for your service.

See How They Run Audition April 11

Imagination Theater is pleased to announce the upcoming audition for See How They Run, a British farce directed by Lanny Langston.   Auditions are scheduled at the theater on Saturday, April 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Parking will be in the upper tiers due to the Kids Expo event on the fairgrounds.  Call backs will be held on Sunday, April 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.   The cast calls for six men and three women. 

IDA - a maid, 20-30 years old.  Cockney accent
MISS SKILLON – a pious churchgoer
THE REVEREND LIONEL TOOP – Local vicar, age 30-40, married to Penelope
PENELOPE TOOP - Reverend Toop's American wife.  Age 35-40
CORPORAL CLIVE WINTON – American serviceman.  Age 25-40
THE INTRUDER – Escaped from prison. Age 35-50
THE BISHOP OF LAX – Age 35-50
THE REVEREND ARTHUR HUMPHREY – Age 35-55
SERGEANT TOWERS – Age 25-40



Galloping in and out of the four doors of an English vicarage are an American actor and actress, a cockney maid who has seen too many American movies, an old maid who "touches alcohol for the first time in her life," four clergyman in suits presenting the problem of which is which, for disguised as one is an escaped prisoner, and a sedate Bishop aghast at all these goings on and the trumped up stories they tell him.
